Vickie Lafae Martin

Vickie Lafae Martin, a native of Georgia, liked poems as a little girl and began writing poems in high school, with the encouragement of her teacher. Vickie's inspiration to write stories, came from many sources. Her great-grand mother, Ada Milner, her mother, Susie Martin, and her fifth grade teacher, all told her stories that she enjoyed as a child. After high school, she attended Clark Atlanta University (AU) Center, in Atlanta, Georgia. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree, in Mass Communications/News Editorial. She currently resides in Jonesboro, Georgia, with her daughter, Victoria. Victoria, her nieces and nephews, enjoy many of the books she writes and spark the inspiration for some of the stories. The author likes to write stories that entertain, educate, stimulate, motivate, and tickle the imagination of young minds. Her timeless stories are written for children of all ages. She would like for her stories to be a part of your lives. She often comments that, “children are our future and tomorrow's promise for the best."

About the Illustrator
Demeria SeGuan, was born in Chattanooga, TN. She has been drawn to creativity throughout her life, personally and professionally. She is a muralist, illustrator, fine and folk artist, and art teacher. She truly appreciates her natural talent and divine gift. She respects and uses them to achieve her life's purpose to create, teach and impact youth.
